So after Royal Oak we spent our first night in the van, which proved to be not so bad for some of us and not so fun for the others. Either way we got a few hours needed rest and then kicked out of a daycare parking lot (OOPS!). The rest of our day was spent at the Starbucks Church Of Latte-Day Saints on main street in Royal Oak and then we headed to the promoters, Kenny Plonts, house near the night’s venue in Watertford, MI. After some power naps, super smash brothers, and delicious pulled pork sandwiches courtesy of Mrs. Plont we were ready to get our rock on. The venue for the night was the basement of the Dugan Building in Waterford, which is a construction company that coincidentally had contracts in Trumbull and Westport, CT. Counter Culture rocked us with some old school rock and roll jams, and then Kenny’s band Take A Hint! showed us to their some very entertaining and always interesting version of Ska, and after our set Mr. Dugan (who’s parents owned the building) played us some soothing Jazz. Kenny and the Plonts put us up for the night and sleeping on a futon for me (Brian) was like a trip back home for some much needed rest. Yesterday we had our only day off this tour, after some delicious bagels and homemade jam courtesy of the Plont’s it was off to be nerds and see Harry Potter pt. 2. Once we had our fill of witchcraft and wizardry we made the 5+ hour drive to Pittsburgh, PA to stay with Peter Lancaster who is a good friend of Peter’s. Today we are playing 10 min away at Kopec’s in Pittsburgh with BOYFRNDZ (TX), Edhochuli, and more ( facebook event at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=216423095070643).
